The Before Pictures
Located on 320’ tidal frontage of the Harraseeket River, this 1970’s era home is tucked in the woods just outside of downtown Freeport. Originally a seasonal camp, insulation and drywall were later added to winterize the structure. Unfortunately, the last decade has been hard on this property—leaks were left unchecked, small animals made cozy homes in the walls and insulation, and walls developed a thick coating of nicotine and dust. Supermoon purchased the dilapidated property in early 2019 and started renovations in April.
The 1970’s era camp consists of a large, gambrel-roof house and an accessory apartment
The ground floor of the main house has an unfinished basement with concrete floors, utility room and two bedrooms
The first floor has large windows overlooking the tidal Harraseeket River. There is also a kitchen and office/bedroom
The master bedroom is in the lofted area overlooking the main living space. There was a built in bed frame, closets and a small, triangular bathroom.
The secondary structure, originally a pottery studio, currently consists of a living space, kitchen, bathroom, lofted bedroom and patio.
Although the property itself has a campy 1970’s vibe that we love, it’s location is really what makes it special. Built before more stringent zoning codes were put into place, the house is perched right on the Harraseeket River overlooking a long stretch of marshy estuary, in a quiet patch of woods close to town.
